Stonefield Database Toolkit Subscription Program

Effective May 1, 2001, Stonefield Database Toolkit (SDT) support and updates is provided on a subscription basis. Our subscription program will help you and us in the following ways:

Continuous enhancements: We've typically released a completely new version of SDT every 18 - 36 months. One reason this cycle is so long is that a new version has to include a large number of major enhancements in order to justify an upgrade price. As a group, these changes take a long time to design, implement, test, and document. Under the subscription program, we'll enhance the product in a continuous development process. This means you'll have more timely access to new features.
Single code base: Not having to maintain multiple code bases will free up resources that can be better spent on development of new versions. Also, since support will only be available to current subscribers, who should always have the latest version of the product, we won't have to spend time refamiliarizing ourselves with outdated versions just to provide support.

Subscription Program Benefits

The subscription program offers the following benefits:

Access to Stonefield technical support via email (support@stonefield.com). Telephone support is available to subscribers at an additional cost ($150 per hour in 15 minute increments).
Access to product updates. Updates will be released on a regular basis, and current subscribers will automatically receive an email notifying them when new versions have been released.
Automatic inclusion in the SDT beta program, so current subscribers will have access to the latest version of SDT before it hits the street.

Subscription Program Details

Here's how the subscription program works:

New purchases of SDT will include a one-year subscription.
When a subscription is one month from elapsing, we will send an email to the subscriber offering a one-year renewal for $129 US for a single license. Subscribers will have a one-month grace period to renew at no additional cost after their subscription elapses.
If someone lets their subscription elapse and then wants to re-subscribe, an additional service fee of $50 per license will be charged.
